Baby Girl Ciullo's First Scrapbook
A few weeks ago I was itching to do some scrapbooking::::I had been waiting patiently to start anything for the baby until we found out the sex. I think it was fate because about a year ago I purchased an adorable baby girl line by Teresa Collins that I've been dying to use. I made her a mini album out of one my new fav envelope albums by Graphic 45. The album was perfect for this project because it will allow me to put special keepsakes in the envelopes::::Here are a few pictures; one of the cover, one of another random page and the last one a pic of one of the envelope flaps;)

Step 1:::: Buy Fabric for Baby Girl Bedding~~~check!
After much discussion, hours on baby blogs and Pinterest::: Grandma Pasciuto and I finally made a decision and purchased the fabric that will soon become Baby Girl Ciullo's bedding. I'm am so excited to be checking things off this 'baby to-do list'....the next obstacle is actually transforming this fabric into my vision. Fyi::::I have never attempted a sewing project like this before, but since I could not find anything I liked as much in stores, I decided to challenge myself (and the fact that my Mom and Mother-in-law could troubleshoot if needed;))) Here is a picture of the fabric collection that we selected from...I fell in love its (Midwest Modern by Amy Butler) tones of grey and yellow as well their design elements! I can't wait to show you how they all come together;))

Her's (& mine) First Quilt
Here is my Baby Girl's first quilt....and her Mommy's too! I had always wanted the colors grey and yellow no matter if I was having a boy or a girl....I attribute this to me needing to start projects;)) Of course I had found and cut the fabric over a month back, (I even have a bigger size version of this quilt, just so I could have two size options;) but once I got to the point of the squares sewed together, I kind of panicked. I had never tackled an entire quilt by myself, but I'm pretty darn proud of myself. Thank goodness there was a Law & Order SVU marathon on yesterday, because I literally brought transported by sewing station to the kitchen table and worked on this throughout about 5 episodes;)
Since getting my sewing machine and doing a bunch of different projects, I have come to realize I am not a huge fan of following patterns (like the ones you purchase at Joanns) because I get frustrated. So with this quilt project I knew I wanted to have the "just go for it" attitude. I used a blog I follow....http://susanweinroth.typepad.com for reference. Although I love her scrapbooking, she has done some adorable quilts and articles for Fiskars.
Here are a couple pictures of the final product::::I even used a new quilting stitch on my sewing machine to create the top stitching for each square! Although on her directions for completing the binding, she pinned and hand stitched after sewing the binding piece on.....I quickly figured out a way to use my sewing machine, because there was no way I was going to hand stitch around the entire perimeter! Well, it worked! Now her beautiful quilt is hanging over her empty bed.....Now I just need to order the fabric so I can start making her bedding;))))

Baby Girl Ciullo
Joseph and I are proud to announce that a Baby Girl will be joining our family at the beginning of January. We could not be more excited about growing our family and becoming a Mommy and Daddy. This monumental news has given me the extra push to keep up on our blog so our family from all around can join in on this experience.
For those of you that are aware of my **CreAting**obsession know that I have been trying to plan out potential baby projects, but as soon as I found out we were having a Girl....it was on!!! My creative juiced started flowing as I started to excessively stalk blogs, Pinterest and other various craft websites. With all of the kicking this girl has been doing lately, she has been my inspiration to Create!!! Later this week I'll share a couple projects I have completed already!!!!!
The ultrasound pictures below are not her most recent. To be honest, her last pictures looked like something out of a scary movie...it seriously made me....I may just have to share to prove this point;) The first picture is of her attempting to suck her thumb...{sorry they're a bit blurry}. The second one are the back of her legs crossed, sleeping just like her Mommy;)))
